My first passion is to cook, read about food & beer and discover new flavors by traveling. This resulted in achieving a Masterclass certificate in Beer & food pairing. When buying the ingredients I avoid supermarkets and buy seasonal and local ingredients at local markets and local specialized shops. My second passion is welcoming people, explaining the background and history of traditionnal dishes. I have been hosting students from abroad for 30 years. Cooking for them and sharing my knowledge of food helped us in refining typical Belgian dishes and in explaining its history. Since 2012, more than 1000 students, travelers and expats from all over the world joined one of our cooking classes or candlelight suppers of Belgian traditional dishes, prepared with love! This was perhaps the only occasion in my life where every single dish served, without exception, excited and excelled. On top of this there is the superb location and the inimitable hosts Iria and Elsie who ensured the candlelit evening flowed with pazazz. I brought my uncle along and his reaction was "I've never been to anything like this, it is wonderful". Wonderful it was.
